Waterproofing is a fundamental aspect of creating a building envelope, or a controlled environment. Structures are waterproofed with the use of membranes and coatings to protect contents and structural integrity. Walls are not subjected to standing water, and the water-resistant coatings are designed to be porous enough to let moisture escape. All surfaces to be water proofed should be pressured cleaned and free of all dirty, chalk and loose paint prior to the waterproofing application.
